Dreamadelica is an evolving electronic project founded by Gilbert Gabriel, exploring the intersection of cinematic songwriting and contemporary electronic performance, informed by the atmospheric Bristol sound of LTJ Bukem, alongside elements of world music and deep, organic textures reminiscent of Deep Forest.
Originally just a studio project, where Gilbert Gabriel collaborated with bass player Clare Kenny (Sinéad O’Connor), it has since evolved into a live electronic act.
Now performing as a live/electronic crossover, Dreamadelica features:
-
Gilbert Gabriel — Keyboards / Production / Live Mix
-
Peter Shearn (Jazzient) — Guitar / eBow / Live Looping
-
Amanda Mullinger (The Kins) — Guest Vocals / Flute
Gilbert Gabriel’s achievements include worldwide success with The Dream Academy, and as a solo artist has released music via Rough Trade and Blanco y Negro, alongside a series of 12-inch club records, and performed improvisatory Fender Rhodes sets in a jazz collective in Covent Garden — informing Dreamadelica’s live electronic approach.
Peter and Amanda’s contributions are informed by their solo work across live cinema performance and looping-based sets, adding a modular, improvisational dimension to the live show.
Dreamadelica will be performing at The Green Table Café (Totnes) on June 6th and June 27th, with a forthcoming EP scheduled for release on June 20th.
